A Golden Night!

Not many can say it these days, or not enough if you ask me...50 years together, through sickness and health, rich or poor, thick and thin, and all the other great and challenging times that come with the big vows. Here's to Louise & Jim Donovan, who celebrated their golden anniversary Saturday night at Brenner's Steakhouse. http://www.brennerssteakhouse.com/ You know the place, home of the fabulous steaks and the beautiful garden.
The Donovan family was there in force, a force of 17 in fact, to celebrate the occasion. I've known Louise and Jim's daughter, Margo, for almost 20 years (hmmmm, we're about to have an anniversary of our friendship) and she and I have been through it together. Another lifetime ago but suffice it to say, we have survived, and we have a bond that won't be broken. Margo's son, William, just turned 18 and is off to college tomorrow though I still see him as when I first met him, 18 months and in the carseat. So you see why I was so honored when Margo asked me to shoot the celebration. The adults quickly focused on the serious ordering of the vino while the grandchildren became the stars of the show! Check a few of them out here, could they be more precious! 50 YEARS!!! You did it, Louise and Jim, and you are golden!

Feeling the Love!

I was recently privileged enough to shoot a family wedding for a couple who decided to make it official and what a beautiful ceremony it was. Karen and Bill, the bride and groom, were feeling the love from both their families and it could not have been a more special time together. They made a fabulous choice for an intimate gathering like this, Bistro Calais on Bammel Lane. http://www.bistrocalais.com/ Calais has a garden room that adds a special flair and that was certainly true for this wedding. It was a true honor for me to be able to share the experience and get to know the families. See it for yourself, they could not wipe the smiles off their faces, except for the sweet emotions running rampant through the ceremony. And even then, the smiles were shining through the tears. Wishing these two only the best in their future together!

What a great weekend!

I had a great time at the Braeswood Place Homeowners Association Parade! These girls are just two of many who were feeling the spirit of the holiday. I'll have a link posted soon so all the families can find their favorite photos.

Welcome to Debbie Shaw Photography!

I am so excited to announce my new website and blog launching today, July 4th!  It's fitting on our Independence Day, I am celebrating my independence as an artist and mother of a rambunctious and beautiful almost-five-year-old!  She has always been my inspiration and I hope I can bring some of that joy and artistry to your family by capturing unique images that tell the story of your child's life...because we all know, they grow up so fast...
